As is tradition every December, Pantone picks the upcoming “Pantone Color of the Year,” and for the first time in history they’ve chosen two for 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity, a dusty pink and soft light blue.
Their logic? According to Wired magazine, choosing these two colors responds to “the consumers’ increased comfort with using color as a form of expression, and an open exchange of digital information that has opened our eyes to different approaches to color usage that challenge traditional color associations.”
It’s fascinating and important to consider how color selection affects your target audience. Calm the consumer’s eye with a little dose of Serenity, or bring out the pink in their cheeks with some flattering Rose Quartz. Whether you agree with Pantone’s choices or not, consider how unique blends of colors might complement each other and stand out on shelves that are saturated with primary reds, blues, and yellows.
Not all digital printing is born the same. Fantastapack’s 7-color process delivers a broader color gamut to achieve your color – or colors – of the year!
